Role Overview
The General Manager, Fine Homes & Renovations will lead the firm’s $25M+ luxury residential construction division, with full responsibility for overseeing execution, people leadership, business development, and operational success. This individual will serve as the connective tissue between the executive team, project management staff, and field operations – bringing structure, clarity, and vision to a growing portfolio of custom homes. The General Manager will be entrusted with not only managing but enhancing the firm’s already strong reputation for quality, service, and delivery.
This is a pivotal, in-office leadership role based in Vermont, with frequent local travel to project sites and client meetings. Some flexibility to work remotely is available as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as People Manager and operational leader for the Project Management team, including oversight of approximately 9 team members and collaboration with preconstruction and field leads
Drive day-to-day execution of residential construction projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations, timelines, and profitability goals
Lead client-facing business development efforts, including proposal development, presentations, and new project acquisition
Oversee P&L performance of the Fine Homes Division, including top-line revenue and profitability targets
Foster a culture of excellence in craftsmanship, systems thinking, and team collaboration
Provide constructability expertise, drawing from direct field experience to strengthen delivery
Help scale and refine systems that support residential and emerging commercial operations
Utilize tools such as Procore for project tracking and communication
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in construction management, with a strong background in luxury residential projects
Proven success as a leader and people manager, with the ability to mentor and elevate teams
Clear communicator with strong client-facing presentation skills
Financially fluent with experience overseeing budgets, forecasting, and division-level P&L
Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on capacities
Field experience and constructability insight are highly valued
Experience in commercial construction is a plus, especially in system design and scalability
No formal educational requirements; the client values practical knowledge, integrity, and execution
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary range: $163,600 – $190,200, commensurate with experience
