Rackley Roofing is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Service Estimator to join our team in Lebanon, TN. Our six core values-Accountable, Hungry, Humble, Customer-Focused, Innovative, and Smart-are the foundation of everything we do.

The ideal candidate has commercial roofing service experience, strong estimating and customer relationship skills, and the ability to accurately evaluate roofing conditions and develop solutions that meet our customers’ needs.

Job Summary

The Commercial Roofing Service Estimator is responsible for identifying, estimating, and securing commercial roofing service opportunities while developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.

This position works closely with the Service, Sales, Operations, and field teams to perform roof assessments, develop accurate scopes of work and proposals, and help achieve departmental revenue and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Sales

• Prepare accurate estimates, scopes of work, and proposals for commercial roofing service and repair projects.
• Perform roof inspections and field assessments to identify roofing deficiencies, repair needs, and recommended solutions.
• Review drawings, specifications, photographs, measurements, and field information when developing estimates.
• Present and sell proposed scopes of work to existing and prospective customers.
• Follow up on outstanding proposals and opportunities.
• Maintain an active pipeline of service opportunities and work toward established sales and revenue goals.

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Identify opportunities to expand services within assigned accounts.
• Provide timely and professional communication throughout the estimating and proposal process.
• Partner with the Sales and Service teams to develop new customer relationships and strengthen existing accounts.
• Represent Rackley Roofing professionally with customers, vendors, industry partners, and employees.

Roof Inspections & Assessments

• Conduct accurate roof inspections and assessment walks at customer facilities.
• Document existing roof conditions, deficiencies, measurements, and recommended repairs.
• Take photographs and collect supporting information necessary to develop accurate proposals.
• Identify potential safety concerns and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
• Ensure recommended scopes of work align with Rackley Roofing’s safety, quality, and value standards.

Project & Service Coordination

• Work closely with the Service Department to transition approved proposals into production.
• Provide complete and accurate job information to operations and field teams.
• Assist with project management and customer communication when necessary.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposed work can be completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer expectations.
• Review project scope and job requirements to help minimize estimating errors and change orders.

Systems & Documentation

• Maintain accurate customer, estimating, and opportunity information within the company’s CRM.
• Utilize company roof assessment and estimating software.
• Maintain organized records of inspections, estimates, proposals, customer communications, and project documentation.
• Follow Rackley Roofing policies, procedures, processes, and established operating standards.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial roofing, preferably within service, estimating, sales, or project management.
• Experience inspecting and evaluating commercial roofing systems strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing estimates, scopes of work, and customer proposals preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, repairs, and installation methods.
• Ability to identify roofing deficiencies and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Strong estimating, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates, customers, and priorities simultaneously.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with internal teams.
• Experience using CRM, estimating, or roof assessment software is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely access and inspect commercial roofing systems.
• Ability to climb ladders and perform occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ability to work on rooftops and at varying heights.
• Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment as required.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, or drive for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions while conducting roof inspections.
